What class should I take if I am brand new to yoga?
It would be best to try and take the 'Intro to Forrest Yoga series' first. An All Levels class is appropriate but it will be geared to many levels of experience.
Do I need to bring my own yoga mat?
No. We have yoga mats for you to rent for a small fee. We highly suggest that you invest in your own mat for hygiene reasons.
What should I bring to yoga class?
We will provide all equipment necessary including a yoga mat, blanket, blocks, straps, and bolsters. For hygiene reasons it is best to bring your own mat and towel each time you come. A water bottle might be nice too.
What should I wear to yoga class?
You don't need the perfect yoga outfit to fit into our studio. Wear light, nonrestrictive clothing comfortable to stretch in a room that is heated to 80-83 F or 26 to 28 C or higher. You will sweat! We suggest yoga pants or tight shorts and a top/shirt that hugs the body, so the shirt does not go over your head when you go into inversions.
What should I bring to voice or meditation class?
Come as you are. We suggest to wear comfortable cloths. A water bottle might be nice, too.
Drink plenty of water.
It is essential to drink plenty of water throughout the day AND after the class to ensure proper hydration.
If you are new to the studio, arrive 15 - 20 minutes before class time.
Come early so we can meet and best prepare you for your first class. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our studio. Take a quick tour of the facilities.
- Arrive 10 minutes before class time to give oneself time to center and settle down. We will be unable to respond to the intercom and let students into the building once the class has started. - If you have committed to attend a class, do everything you can to actually be there. You might be taking a spot that someone else might have used. - If you won't be able to attend a class, please remember to cancel. - When you are waiting outside please be quiet while class in progress finishes. - Inform teacher of any ongoing and or new condition or injury. - If you are late quietly come in and join us. - Shut off all cell phones and electronic devices. - Take off shoes at the front door. - Roll mat out quietly. - Move your mat to make space in crowded classes. - Keep conversation to a low.
-Refrain from perfumes and oils as many people are allergic. -Please observe basic hygiene when attending class. -Consider bringing your own mat, this is most hygienic. -Please wipe down any mat you borrow from the studio using the spray and paper towels provided. -Return all mats and props neatly.
